What I’ve Forseen for Twenty Nineteen

1

In just 3 days, we start the 2nd year of Christmas 2018 and Beyond! and I’m really excited for it.  I’ve incorporated some of the things you guys requested, and some of the things you answered in the poll last fall.

We will start with a snowflake each week.  Each Monday I will post a link for you, and if you choose to participate, you will end the year with 52 great snowflakes!

A few things will be happening monthly.  For starters, we will continue our monthly contest, wherein everyone posts a picture of something they have created that month into the contest thread, and a name is picked by a random name picker.  The prize is a pattern from Annie’s which you will choose from a selection of 5 items including crochet, needlepoint and sewing.  Also!  This year, the 1st few people to post a picture in the contest thread will have their picture used in the cover picture for the group for that month! (if they wish)

Also monthly, I will post a link for a holiday doily.  The 1st person to post a picture of their doily in the doily thread will also have their picture included in the cover picture for the group for the next month! (if they wish)

Again monthly, I will post a few links for a medium other than crochet, like quilting, needlepoint, paper, felt et. al.  The 1st person to post a picture of their ‘other media’ decoration in that thread will have their picture included in the cover picture for the group for the next month! (if you wish)

A lot of admonitions for “in that thread” I’m afraid.  We love to have your pictures posted at any time and anywhere.  It is only if you are entering the contests that you need to make sure they are in the correct thread, so I don’t miss you when I gather the names for the picker.  You may, of course, also post those same photos in an entirely separate post of your own.

We are also going to try and do a Christmas throw or tree skirt as a CAL (Crochet A Long – where we all work on the same project at the same time and help each other out).

Some more cool things may come up – some sort of online Christmas in July perhaps? – as the year goes on.  As always, all your suggestions are most welcome!

The image at the top of the page is from Lady Dust Bunny, and you can find her pattern for it here.
